Subject: Still trying for those Rustrows

Lookout has been closed these past 2 days so I've been unable to reach Jill for info about who to contact for Rustrows. I will fax her a reminder tonite and then call again on Monday.

Jill called today and told me that she will get me a list of promoters for the upcoming dates as soon as possible. Soon as I get this you will all know who to contact for the Rustrows. She knows time is of the essence and will get it to me as soon as possible.

Subject: Rust Rows - not good news

Well, was unable to get thru to Jill today but I did find out why she's probably not returning my calls about the Rust Rows for those shows going on sale this week.

For Jill to release anything she has to clear it thru Frank and/or Elliot. They are both in Europe right now, with you know who. So, by the time she gets to them and gets the proper permission and gets the wheels rolling it's probably gonna be too late. By some miracle say she gets a go ahead tomorrow and I find out about it around 4 pm (eastern). That gives me a few hours to get it to the list or to those who have volunteered to take care of their regions. And if my server or anyone else's is funky there's more time wasted. They, in turn, have around 24 hours or less, to find out who needs tix and arrange things. And this pretty much kills off a lot of folks on digest mode. And this is the best case scenario.

Best thing for folks to do now is if tickets for your venue go on sale this weekend, plan it out amongst yourselves with other Rusties. The extra day won't be much help but it's a bit.

Now, if your venue is not going on sale this weekend or Monday, please let me know. With a little more time to bug the shit out of Lookout maybe we can get something going.....

Subject: Of Rustrows and Dead Men

Incarcerated Jim and Jeff from the land where everything is cheaper than it looks asked about the Dead Man promo cd. There were 2 other requests as well but I forgot who. Could those 2 folks get in touch with me. I'm trying to keep a record of who was interested.

Also, fax is in to Lookout asking for Rustrows. I will call them late afternoon (their time) tomorrow and see if anything can be done.

The acoustic version of Dead Man is on the single only. Not sure if it's just released as a promo disk or if you can get it. If there's enough interest I can ask Vapor and if it's not released commercially see if we can maybe buy it thru them.

Subject: Washington DC Mini-Row

OK, since I had no idea John Kearney was also working this one I went ahead and tried to score some tickets for the Nissan Pavillion. I was only able to come up with 12 and when I called to confirm info Susan at the Box Office told me about John's 30 tickets. So, after speaking with John, we took my 12 and added it to his 30 which leaves 42 tix for that venue as well. So, if you need DC tickets go thru John - he's handling that Rustrow. And give him a big round of applause. Ya gotta admire a Rustie who's willing to foot the whole bill on his plastic. Hey John, got any left for those t-shirts? :-}

I have a mini one for the Nissan Pavillion - just waiting to see how many tix and what the price will be (they're the high price seats but there may be a service charge). If I have no info posted here by the time you all leave work call me tonite for info. 954-752-3171

For those of you in Boston and New York - Cellar Door does not handle these 2 shows so I can't get the Rustrow. By the time I figure out who does and contact Lookout to contact them, I'm afraid it'll be too late. I'm gonna try one more place, but it doesn't look good guys - I'm sorry....

Subject: All Folks Going to the Walnut Creek Show

Tried to send an e-mail to the list of folks I have, but several messages keep bouncing back to me as undeliverable. If you're planning on Walnut Creek...

We have the Rustrow. I'm supposed to call the promoter around 3 to get the info as to where to send how much for the tickets. If you're not going to be online later this afternoon (4 or after) please call me tonite and I'll relay the info. I think you all have my phone #. If not, email me with yours and I'll call.

Subject: Of Rust Rows & Tour Dates

OK, here's the absolute latest as of 1:47 pm today from Jill at Lookout. The following dates are confirmed dates for the tour and tickets are going on sale tomorrow (we know all this already btw)

August:

10 - Atlanta, GA

15 - Virginia Beach, VA
16 - Camden, NJ
19 - Madison Square Garden
21 - Mansfield, MA
22 - Mansfield, MA
25 - Saratoga, NY
31 - Toronto, Canada

The next group is, what Jill called TBA (to be announced). Simply put, they're 95% confirmed but tickets won't be on sale until next week.

August
18 - Jones Beach Theater, NY
28 - Deer Creek, Ind. September
01 - Clarkston, MI
05 - Austin, TX
06 - Tinley Park, IL
11 - Irvine Meadows, CA
12 - Devore, CA

The next group are rumors and also on the TBA list but subject to change at any minute:

August

07 - Minneapolis
09 - Denver
14 - Seattle
15 - Portland
17 - San Francisco

Some of the first group of TBA's will have tickets going on sale next week so watch for it. I should, by mid-week, also have confirmation on that second group of TBA's - if they're real, if the dates are correct, etc.

Now, Rustrows.

We have the Raleigh Rustrow. I will have the final information after 3:00 today. God, I hope they take checks cuz my husband lost his Mastercard and I had to cancel my account this afternoon! :-[ When I speak to the person I'm to call I will also find out if Washington DC and anywhere else is also included and if not, how I can get you guys the row(s) as well. Stay tuned.....

Subject: Tour Dates????

Well Jill gave me the go-ahead today to release the North American Tour dates to Rust. The only problem is that she forgot to give me the dates! She was supposed to call me this afternoon and never did. What I have now is basically just the stuff that's already out there. The differences being that I show August 18th as being at Jones Beach, Cleveland tentatively scheduled for August 27th, 29th, and September 4th, Austin still on, and the 29th of August also being reserved for Milwaukee.

I will start bugging Lookout again tomorrow.

Just this second got off the phone with Jill at Lookout. She will have an answer about our Raleigh Rustrow for me by tomorrow afternoon (she hopes). She originally thought she'd have it for me tonite but (please don't kill me) I told her I won't be home to get it from her (sorry guys - - prior commitment!)

Here's hoping.....

Subject: Rustrows????

For some reason the upcoming show in Raleigh North Carolina is drawing between 20 - 25 Rusties and their friends/family/significant others.

So because of this, and because I'm going myself (she says selfishly), I'm using this show as a "test case" in getting Rustrows. I've been in contact with Lookout and we'll see what happens. I will know in a day or 2. If it flies here, I will then ask about other venues as we hear about them.

Of course, as soon as I hear anything so do you all.

And dates are not allowed to be released yet. Possibly Monday. I mentioned that several venues are confirming on their own already. Was told that if you hear it that way, then it's true.

BTW, anybody going to the Walnut Creek show in North Carolina please get hold of me ASAP. Thanks.

Subject: Life, the Universe and Madison Square

Got off the phone with Don at Metro Entertainment and here's the latest as of 4:15 pm. Tickets for the Garden WILL NOT be going on sale this Saturday. Lollapalooza or some such thing (he told me - I forgot) will be sold instead. Neil tix go on sale THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY (June 22nd).

As for dates, believe it or not they are not confirmed and won't be until it's time to issue the tickets! (So how are they gonna print them?????) According to Don, as of this typing the 19th of August should be correct and, although he does not know the actual date, there should also be a 2nd show at the Garden as well. So whoever told us a few days ago that the 21st is the other night may very well be correct. Still waiting for "official confirmation" from Lookout but right now I'd definitely go with this info. However, if I were you guys I would definitely post a scout or someone at Ticketbastard and/or the Garden tomorrow JUST IN CASE.

Subject: The Garden????

Spoke with Jill tonite to try and clear up the MSG rumor and find out if I could get those promised dates early. Her answers were, that the Garden date is not yet cast in stone. Don't know what they're waiting for, with tickets going on sale this Saturday but apparently the ink isn't dry on the contract as of 4'ish today Eastern Time. She's gonna try and get me a definitive answer tomorrow.

As for the rest of the tour dates, release has been pushed back. I may have them Friday but should have them for sure Monday. Seems that the booking agency who has handled Neil since they day he bought Old Black is putting the last minute details on the Eurotour starting Monday and has several dates outstanding that have not been firmed up yet since they've been rather busy.

I will keep bugging Lookout daily until we get some sort of answer about MSG out of somebody, somewhere!!

Randy (and Rust),

Tour dates are not available yet. My last call to Lookout I was told that I will have them by Wednesday evening. However, I do have a fax in to Jill (and will be calling later today on it) to see if it's at least possible to confirm the rumor of the Madison Square Garden date(s) at this time since it's only one day before we're supposed to have the whole enchilada.

When I posted my info on the availability date to Rust last week (this coming Saturday), the gentleman at Metro Entertainment who told me that did not know the dates of the concert at that time either. Apparently it has been confirmed that tickets will be on sale this Saturday (according to several Rusties) and I would imagine if you can get that info confirmed then you ought to be able to find out in advance what date(s) you're buying them for. Also trying to track down any info on the rumored Toronto date as well, including the Oasis rumor. Soon as I have ANYTHING I will let you all know.

Subject: More neat HyperRust stuff

Spoke to Lookout tonite - Jill swears I'll have those dates Wednesday. Looks like the rest of Rust may beat me to it... :-} (I will check that Toronto date and the Oasis possibility). Anyway, the reason she called me was to put me in touch with a gentleman named David from Metro Entertainment. They're somehow connected to Neil's tour and the publicity around it. (I don't think I'd make a good reporter - I forget to ask stuff like HOW he's connected).

He's heard of Rust through Lookout and wanted to know all about the "internet Neil Young Fan Club" as Lookout has been calling us (don'tcha love it!). He wanted to know if we had a press release about us!!!! When I got done laughing I told him about HyperRust and while we were talking, he was plugging into HyperRust on his computer (nice to have 2 phone lines). And, guess what? He's gonna be in touch with David Lybrand and hopes to be able to post press releases about the upcoming tour to HyperRust as well as trying to get us those tour dates even before Lookout. He was the one who told me, in passing, about the Garden although he didn't have the dates either.

I'm sure after RE*AC*TOR speaks to him he can fill us in more on what's going on. But is this getting cooler by the minute or what? As long as we don't have to pay dues or nothin'..... :-}

And, as an aside to any of the folks at Lookout, Vapor, Reprise, Media, and all connected with Neil (and Neil hisself if he's out there), thanks for the vote of confidence in Rust and HyperRust. You guys are hooked to the best damn group of people and the best web page out there!!!!! And Mia, if you're out there, I'm posting that Customers review tomorrow....

Subject: Sponsored by........Vapor??????

Mornin' all! A small bit of news - interesting at the very least.

Firstly, get the obligatory bad news/no news out of the way. Frank was in meetings all day yesterday so no news on dates yet. Will throw Cinnamon Girl's info about August 9th up to them on Monday and see if I can get them to expand on that . Thanks CG - your sources are great!!!!

OK, now....
Got home yesterday to find my husband telling me a lady named Mia from some record company called me. Check the machine and find out it's Mia from Vapor Records. NO idea what she wants - figured maybe she was calling to thank me for being the only person in South Florida to buy Dead Man or something. :-} (Re-Ac-Tor, you're closer to Central Fla...)

Note from RE*AC*TOR: Bullshit! I'm only one county north of you...! :-)
Call her up and she tells me that Lookout gave her my number and she wanted to touch base with me about a few things...
  1. (and this I thought was WAY COOL!) is that both Lookout and Neil have seen HyperRust and are totally impressed with it (way to go Re-Ac-Tor and everyone else who contributes). Not only are they impressed but they would like to be a part of it! Vapor has asked if they can send info to HyperRust on both their organization and their artist roster (and their comings and goings) and have it put on. Told Mia that since HyperRust was not my page (for some reason they all thought it was) I would ask Re-Ac-Tor. Spoke with him last night and I am calling Vapor on Monday to put Mia in touch with him.

  2. Mia is sending me some stuff that she's asked that I share with Rust. To be honest I really don't know what it is yet but I told her I'd be glad to. And she's asked that if any of you have any questions about Vapor (other than how can I send them my band's tapes - I'm not a promoter) please let me know and I'll let her know and see if we can get some answers. A question - if it's stuff about other artists on the roster should I use the (NNC) in the header? Or are you all interested anyway?

  3. This is Minor NC, so if you want to you can hit delete right now. She has let me know that the Jonathan Richmond album will be released by late July/early August. And I know some of you were interested in the Customers. They will be going on a European tour at the end of June. On some of their gigs they may open for Neil as well.
So, any comments, questions, etc.????
