dot dot review by Coletta
Hey........I'm new to all this but I'll give it a shot............my first
Neil concert.............my expectations were very high based on all I had
been reading on the Rust List and hearing from others.........the show was
all I had hoped for.....met..... exceeded and sky rocketed past my highest
expectation!!

Chrissy and Co........rocked hard and gave a solid performance.........she
covered Needle and the Damage Done........prior to starting into the song
...........Chrissy says.......(somethin to this effect)......"did you ever
feel that someone wrote a song and meant it just for you?".......Then she
starts......."I caught you knockin at my cellar door"......as she sang the
lyric...."every junkie's like a setting sun"...........the sun was setting
behind the hill at Blossom.......people let me tell you it sent a chill up
and down my spine.............!!!!!!!!!!

Neil opened with Motorcycle Mama......sweet aroma spontaneously filled the
air all around..........followed by Powderfinger.......a drunk person next
to me yelling "Cinnamon Girl".......and complaining loudly and shouting in
my ear during the sets was a bit distracting........but did not detract at
all from my enjoyment of the evening.........I loved Neil at the piano for
Tonight's the Night.........he did.....Daddy Went Walking and dedicated it
to his father up in Canada........A great rendition of Unknown Legend.....
.........a highlight for me was the first encore.............All Along The
Watchtower!!! Chrissy joined him on stage......she seemed to falter a bit
on the lyrics.........but regained her composure and then settled in quite
nicely...........2nd encore gave us Mellow My Mind..........not a personal
favorite......I was hoping for something that rocked more....but hey......
.....it's Neil's gig and anything he wants to play is fine by me.........

Rockin in the free world.........

review by Randy I Take MY Orders From Fools Watt
The Blossom Neil show was pretty good overall, in spite of ridiculous and overbearing security, and certain drunk assholes in the crowd. This show had the most laid-back crowd of the 4 shows I saw; hardly anyone got up for anything. It's almost like they expected a blasting Neil feedback expedition.

I went to Blossom because I wanted to see Chrissie play in her own backyard, and she did not disappoint. She was very vocal with the crowd, stating she used to be a waitress at that very venue. She poked a little at local government ("Did you know this is the mayor of Akron's favorite song?" before Ohio). There were several rabid Pretenders fans in the audience, which added more energy to their set than any other show I attended.

Neil and the band were about the same as any other show. He was unusually quiet, I thought. The sound at Blossom is very good. There was only one "How ya doin'?" and a couple "How's it goin'?" statements. He did the usual wrong key-false start thingie before Walk On ("I USED to play this song in that key....").

The high point of the show was the first encore.... before the band returned to stage, roadeyes set up another mic up front, and we all knew what was going to happen. Neil came back out on stage and called for Chrissie to join them. She came out looking rather sheepish and nervous in a cool tie-dyed tee, and Neil taped a set of lyrics on her mic stand (she needed them, too!). They busted into a nice AATW, but Neil seemed subdued, perhaps trying to lead Chrissie through the song.

All in all, it was another (carbon copy) nice performance by Neil and crew.

There were a great number of Rustoids present, sorry i missed about as many more. Terry and Dan, Lee and Peggy (proud new grandparents... they were supposed to be at Star Lake but daughter was delivering Dylan, so they quip, 'We missed Neil, but we saw Dylan!'), Joel and Lisa, Joe Ray Skrha from Alaska, Deb RtR, Bruce Devney, Bob the Emperor, sorry if i missed any names. Lee and Peggy signed the "HOW YA DOIN'?" banner out in the parking lot before the cops chased us off.
