Cowgirl..... whoa. It was tremendous.

Last night I was in the pit, the prior night up in the stands. Both were great vantage points and had great sound, as the County Bowl is an amazing and small venue. But it's always fun to be close. But where this show really differs is on the jamming electric songs. It's really a whole 'nother show when you're up front, when the energy is flying and Neil is going nuts.

Then again, Cowgirl In The Sand was a whole 'nother show of its own. I saw the show in NJ when he broke this out for the first time this tour, but last night he took it to new heights.

I was real happy to hear Don't Let It Bring You Down and Helpless. It seemed like Helpless was a last minute change, as Neil sent Cragg back with the acoustic to get his electric before doing the song. And is it usual for Astrid to play acoustic on Unknown Legend? If so, I didn't notice before.

Oh, and Tonight's The Night. I really got it this time. Neil is laying his heart and soul into this number. Neil is channeling some old feelings for this number. There were tingles that I did not have before.

What a great run of shows. Pretty much every local musician (and there's a lot in this town) I know or have seen made it out to one of these two nights. Or both. After the first show, the word was out: you must get yourself to the remaining show!

I would've liked to have gotten out early and met more of you traveling Rusties than I did, but I had to work up until showtime both nights. But from work it's only a 5 block bike ride down Milpas to the Bowl, so I was there in a flash... What a dream it was.
