The Fest Call was put out by Chuck Moe the Sleaze King....

OK (im)patient Rusties, here's the first announcement for the Somerset RustFest!!

Where:

Trump's Deluxe Grill & Bar (all ages welcome)
317 Main St.
Stillwater, MN

Stillwater is about 10 miles west of Somerset, on the beautiful St. Croix River. Main St is the main north-south street through downtown (aka Hwy 95). I'll post more exact directions later.

When:

Friday, August 1, 11:00-1:00
This should get us to River's Edge at Somerset in plenty of time for Neil's hoped-for (Please Neil!) early solo performance.

Here are the directions:

From Somerset WI:

Take Hwy 64 west from Somerset approximately 10 miles, crossing the historic Stillwater lift-bridge into Stillwater, MN. You are now on E Chestnut St. Turn left at the second intersection which is Main St. (aka Hwy 95). Trump's is about two blocks south of Chestnut on the left (river) side of the street.

From I-94:

Take the Hwy 95 North exit from the interstate. This is the first/last exit on the west side of the St. Croix River. Drive north on 95 for about 7 miles to Stillwater. Hwy 95 becomes Main St. Trump's is on the right side of the street near E Nelson St.

From northern Twin Cities:

Take I-694 to Hwy 36. Take 36 east into Stillwater. Hwy 36 merges with Hwy 95 North at Stillwater before becoming Main St. Trump's is on the right side of the street near E Nelson St.

Safeway Cart's Fest Report

I got back a five days ago and I am finally getting around to doing this. I love telling people about this trip, but it so much work to put it down in print. I sure hope somebody finds this interesting.

I flew from Winnipeg to Minneapolis on the morning of Friday, August 1st. Chuck Moe the Sleaze King (he sure does live up to his handle ;) was at the airport to take me to the RustFest at Trump's Deluxe Grill & Bar in Stillwater, MN. It was a good time and we had a very nice view of the St. Croix River. I can't name everyone one who was there, so I will just say they were a fun bunch to get together with. What ended up happening with the three guys who drove out from Roseau, Minnesota? Did you get the van fixed? (On their way from the fest to the show it broke down, so they missed Neil's solo set.)

After the HORDE show, of course we couldn't find a hotel with a room available anywhere near by, so we (Leo, Frank and I) stopped at a rest stop and spent the night in the truck.

Chuck, Leo, Frank, and Tom went way beyond the call of duty and I will never be able to thank you guys enough. I will find some way to repay you, whether you like it or not! ;)

But I'm getting ahead of myself. At 11 am 13 rusties and friends gathered at Trump's bar and grill in Stillwater, MN, 10 miles from the H.O.R.D.E. site, and a very nice time was had by all. Thanks to Chuck Moe the Sleeze King for organizing us once again.
