Four of the Missing 6 are Lost No More...
Most avid Neil fans are aware that six of his albums released on LP and cassette between 1972 and 1981 have up to now never been released on CD. The albums are: These albums have since come to be known as The Missing 6. But effective June 24, when the four most recent ones are finally released on CD, the Missing 6 will become the Missing 2.

These 4 albums, to be released on CD with the original LP artwork and the same tracklist as the LPs, have been remastered with the highest available resolution equipment. Plans are to eventually also release the albums on DVD-Audio.

According to Joel Bernstein, the remaining "Missing 2" were not remastered due to lack of availability of high quality master tapes. Much of the original material on Journey Through The Past is only available at the quality used for the JTTP movie, and much of Time Fades Away was recorded "direct to disk" (an experimental technique of the era). It's not clear what masters were used when TFA was almost released on CD (with "HDCD" augmentation) in the mid-90s.

These four CDs being released in June will give Neil fans a dose of Neil product to hold them over until the release of the upcoming Greendale album in late summer.
