Woof woof! Wesman 13-feb-96 13:02 EST Epilog to the Report, from Barb Hardaway (barbh@illustra.com)Wesman scores again!! I was very conservative in my reply just giving the dog info requested because I could fill many cyberpages on dogs. My beloved Lupus was not included but I've decided to honor him as he should be honored in this reply to Wesman's wonderful work. I raised a Timberwolf/Gray wolf cross (no dog genes) and he resided in my home for 13 years before he was taken out by a snake.....hiiissssss Lupus acted as uncle to 16 kittens, 1 Muscovie duck, 10 parakeets, 2 kids. He was an adjunct lecturer at the Univ of Calif Davis in the Dept of Applied Behavioral Sciences. The Dean gave him special dispensation so he could come on campus without the dog patrol nabbing him. I can honestly say it was hard to have a dog after raising a wolf. They are definitely different to live with. Lupe was the gentlest soul I have ever encountered in my life. I sometimes go thru major Lupe withdrawals especially when I am doing a beach thing or wandering thru the woods. His zest for life was so real and all of us had such fun being raised by him. He was the best kid fight breaker upper I have ever seen....didn't like those girls fighting. He would gently take an arm and lead one of them away and then place himself between them so they couldn't touch each other. Quite funny to watch..... Anyway, enough blithering....I guess I'm having one of those Lupus withdrawal things...sigh Rusties are the best!! Barb |
