This afternoon on the radio on one of Connecticut's New Haven FM stations, the local promoter told a listener (who called in asking for Neil info) that Neil is teaming up with CSN again in 2001. Maybe this is in the cards for after his South American jaunt?

Subject: All Tomorrow's Parties rumor
Over here in England, I'm getting a few more rumours about Neil coming over the pond for us. I have a couple of contacts at the NME, and there are still rumours about the Neilster coming over for the All Tomorrow's Parties festival at Camber Sands, Sussex, next April. This fest got a good write-up last year (Sonic Youth headlined) and the next fest already includes Yo La Tengo, Calexico and Television, so it can't be bad. I'll let you know of any further developments...
Peace and goodwill to us all,

I'm not at liberty to reveal my sources, but a little bird told me that the South American shows are being played with Crazy Horse; They and Neil are working on a new album; and they all are planning a European Tour for next summer.
There are currently rumors circulating that Neil is going to play in Europe. An Austrian news magazine says that he´s going to play in Vienna on 03/16/2001. No other dates yet.
My guess: Euro-Tour in "July" 2001. :o(

Reported in the most unlikely of sources, the UK tabloid newspaper THE SUN: There's a snippet about Oasis playing in South America in January 2001. They mention three shows: the Rock In Rio festival, a show in Paraguay with REM, and a show with Neil Young in Buenos Aires. This was from a discussion with Noel Gallagher. I guess if you are going to go to South America, one might as well do more than one show.

Subject: Bridge Schedule Shuffle
The only change to the tentative sequence was to move Neil's set (which featured Friends & Relatives rather than being a solo set) to the slot right before CSNY. Makes sense, because the rythym section (Keltner & Duck) is the same for the two bands, simplifying the set change. And they did run long, with the show ending at about 1:00 AM again (almost as late as last year).
Adjusting yesterday's tentative schedule for the earlier start time and the shifted Neil set, today's tentative schedule (with set start times) would be:
This is a rough tentative schedule for the Saturday Bridge School Benefit Concert, with very set start times:
It appears that the same schedule will apply on Sunday (3 hours
earlier) but that too could very easily change.

Subject: Another CSNY tour?
In response to a rumor that CSN is feuding with Neil over his release of Road Rock (rather than an expedited CSNY live album/DVD) and had withheld CSNY cuts from his Archives project, Graham Nash issued the following statement:
"It's all bull... Neil knows that he has CSN's permission to use any track he wants to for his 'Archive' project. We have never even talked with him about his release of Road Rock."Neil can do what the hell he wants to with his music. Work on the CSNY DVD is going slowly due to prior commitments, but we are working on both the audio and the video. We have had CD's cut of our favorite performances of our songs.
"We will choose the best, then meet to discuss what songs should finally make it. Larry Johnson is doing the same with the video so work is going on. Post this and tell everyone out there to relax. Things are still great between us all and we are right now, making plans for the next tour."
Graham
According to the Rock In Rio web site (only on the Portuguese version of the site at the moment -- no mention yet on the English version), with a little help from a translator:
Neil Young is confirmed forRE*AC*TOR
Rock In Rio For A Better World!Without a doubt this is one of the biggest attractions of the festival that will happen in January of 2001. The name most dreamed of, most hoped for, most negotiated by entrepreneur Robert Medina.
Since Rock In Rio II, Medina has tried to bring Neil Young to Rio. "I am experiencing a dream," confessed Medina after the signing of the contract this past Monday, October 9. Neil Young, who has never been to Brazil, will star on January 20 on the World Stage, the same night that Sheryl Crow will also sing.

Subject: Farm Aid Aid
The Onion, a weekly satirical newspaper, mentions Neil and Farm Aid this week, with the following small article:
'Farm Aid Aid' Concert To Benefit Struggling Farm Aid Concerts INDIANAPOLIS--A special Farm Aid Aid concert will be held Oct. 3 in Indianapolis to raise money for America's struggling Farm Aid concerts, event organizer Willie Nelson announced Monday. "Fifteen years ago, our nation's Farm Aid concerts were thriving, with millions of Americans flocking to see such artists as John Mellencamp, Neil Young, and myself," Nelson said. "But today, with ticket sales dwindling and subsidies nonexistent, countless hard-working Farm Aid promoters have been forced to foreclose on bookings in amphitheaters one-tenth the size of the stadiums they once filled."Cheers
This is only investigative speculation, but Santana will be
playing the Concord Pavillion on October 28th, and he does

Subject: DVD of Denver Shows?
In a review in today's Denver Post, quote:
"...a camera crew was on hand,as well as audio technicians, capturing the concert for a live album and DVD sceduled for release in December."There was also a very professional looking film crew filming last nights show so lets hope it becomes a reality. There's also an interesting statement in there about Neil:
"He doesn't give a rat's behind about the fabulous music biz - he refused a photo op with the promoter and turned down an interview with CNN. All he cares about is his family and his music, which is commendable."Jim

Subject: Santa Barbara
It is very cool that Neil Young is returning to Santa Barbara on the added leg of tour. On KYTD radio 99.9 they announced a 2nd show for 9/28. It's confirmed in the Santa Barbara Independent.
Even cooler is that the show is at the County Bowl (aka Santa Barbara Bow), which is a beautiful natural amphitheater nestled in a ridge on the side of the Riviera. It only seats 4500 or so, so it may be the smallest venue of the tour. However, there are no cheap seats for this show. The prices range from $88.50 to $48, and it seems that almost 1/2 the house is priced at the highest price level! There's really not a bad seat in the entire Bowl, though I'd rather be in the pit than 1/2 way back for the same price.
The last time Neil Young played Santa Barbara was the solo acoustic tour in 1989 when Pancho and Ben Keith would join him on stage for a few songs. He played a single show at the Bowl, and believe it or not it was only 3/4 full!
So, it's been a long drought for SB Neil. There's definitely a buzz around
town about Neil coming to town. I think there are a lot of folks around
here who like Neil but wouldn't ever drive to LA in order to see the show.
