I've gotten confirmation from independent sources that the Euro-Tour IS off, attributed to the finger cut.... :-(
(And after I busted my butt to get all those T shirts over there in time.... :-)
Reportedly, an attempt will be made to reschedule for the fall. Here's one report on the MTV web site. And here's the press release from Warner Brothers.
This is a bit weird -- he supposedly cut his finger two weeks ago (remember the cancelled second night at the Catalyst?) -- yet this just comes out now. I suppose that he might have been waiting to see if it would heal quickly, and progress wasn't good.
My condolences to all Euro-Rusties...!

Hi Rusties,
I emailed the Gorge and this was their response. Sounds like
a definite NO. Portland, anyone?????

The local newspaper, the Austin American-Statesman, reports that a booking agency, PACE, is holding August 23 as a possible date for HORDE at Southpark Meadows in Austin, but it also says that PACE is reportedly hedging on the show because initial sales in other markets have been weak.
Another section of the Austin American-Statesman says "HORDE looks pretty
definite for Southpark Meadows on Aug 23."

I called the Sony Blockbuster Entertainment Center this afternoon and was told that the HORDE Festival is confirmed for Camden, but that the date is not yet set. My guess is mid-August. I had thought Aug.12, but there's another act (Jimmy Buffett) scheduled for that date. As soon as I learn of a concrete date, I'll let y'all know.

Based on a tip from "Jardo", I found a story in the El Pais newspaper. Not being Spanish literate, I think it says that he's now playing on July 1st in Madrid, at La Madrileņa Plaza de Las Ventas (which is a bull ring). It also confirms the other two dates in Spain in San Sebastion and Barcelona.
Looking good for the Spaniards again...!

Subject: Malmo show date HAS changed!
Hi everyone
Just got out of bed and opened the entertainment section. SydSvenska
wrote that the Malmo show has been moved to 12 June. The reason for this was
that Neil didn't want to play two shows in a row, due to a throat surgery he
had a few years back. And the guy who booked the tour obviously didn't know
this. So I guess the info we got the other day WAS correct.
Perhaps that's why other show have been canceled. Neil may have seen the proposed tour and just put the foot down. Do we know anything about a throat surgery in recent years? They can't be talking about the one he had back in '75?
Take Care

The Ft. Worth paper noted over the weekend that HORDE is tentatively scheduled for Dallas (at the new TX Motor Speedway north of Ft. Worth) on Aug 2nd. Perhaps I'll get to see Neil 4 or 5 times if he makes all the close dates: Houston, Austin, Dallas, Ok. City ... :) ... but I'm not holding my breath.

Subject: Date confusion Malmo show 11th of June
I understand that there is some uncertainty about the actual date for the Malmo show. A recent info-flyer from the NYAS about the European tour dates stated that the Malmo show was on the 12th of June and not as previously mentioned on the 11th of June.
For Malmo-going Rusties info and other interested parties:
My tickets (and other Rusties' tickets as well) say the 11th of June and to be even more certain I have today called the Tourist Office in Malmoe and they also confirmed that the date IS the 11TH OF JUNE.....
Hope this clarifies things a bit - BUT - remember you never know with this Neil-character ..
Rust on...

I talked to APB, the Highgate promoters, today because I wanted to know what was happening with the summer tours. They told me: Furthur and Tragically Hip Fest will be confirmed next week, HORDE is definitely not going to happen, and ABB and the Vince Welnick - Jefferson Airplane - The Band tour are unknown quantities at this moment.
He seemed pretty adamant about it too.
Since it doesn't seem that Neil will be coming to Montreal either, seems like Spac is better than nothing.
